90210 Spinoff Details Emerge

I dont know if this is a conflict of interests, but here goes anyway lol

The CW still hasn't greenlit its planned spinoff of "Beverly Hills, 90210" -- but details of the script are starting to leak out.

According to reports on casting breakdowns and TVTracker.com, the new take on the Aaron Spelling-Darren Star sudser will focus on the Mills family of BevHills and offer a lot more racial diversity than the original show.

Matriarch of the family is Tabitha Mills, a 60-something actress/alchoholic who was a major star in the 1970s and had been linked to everyone from Warren Beatty to Jack Nicholson. After her latest bout at Betty Ford, Tabitha decides to try to live on her own in her BevHills estate.

Worried for his mom's safety, do-gooder son Harrison "Harry" Mills, a 1980s graduate of Beverly Hills High, decides to move back home to the 90210 after years in St. Louis. He brings with him his wife, Celia, an Olympic athlete who's looking forward to living in Cali, and ends up working as a personal trainer.

The couple have two 16-year-olds: Daughter Annie and adopted son Dixon. Annie is an emo/theater kid who's desperate to fit in with the cool crowd. Dylan, er, Dixon is a supersmart bad boy who has lingering social and behavioral issues -- and not an ounce of nerdiness in him.

According to the breakdowns, producers are open to actors of all ethnicities for the Dixon role, leaving open the possibility that the character won't be a white male.

As for the other teen denizens in the new "90210," writer Rob Thomas has also come up with:

* Silver, aka Daphne Silver, a wannabe socialite who hosts her own YouTube series. She becomes good pals with Annie and has a crush on Dixon (as well as the only Jewish girl at BevHills High with a black boyfriend -- another hint that producers are considering making Dixon's character non-white).

* Max Silver, Daphne's 24-year-old brother, is a working man who manages the family movie theater at the Century City Mall (the new show's version of the Peach Pit, perhaps?) He seems forever on the verge of a nervous breakdown and appears to be harboring some secrets.

"90210" geeks will note the Silvers share the same last name as the character played by Brian Austin Green in the original series.

* Navid Shirazi produces the high school's student-run video newscast and is of Middle Eastern descent. He's the consummate high school politician.

* Ethan Ward is a likable jock who falls out of favor with the "in" crowd and ends up hanging with the "90210" crew.

* Naomi Bennett is Ethan's super-hot, ultra-rich ex-girlfriend. She appears to be a brat but will end up having more layers.

2 Flashes for the Price of One!

So we are used to fast forwards, and we are just getting accustomed to flash backs, now are we gonna be disecting every scene wondering if we are getting flashbacks and flash forwards in the same episode? I usually catch these things, but I truly did not see that Jin was in a flashback. I kept yelling at the TV: "omg Jin and Sun got divorced and he is re-married!," and things of that nature. I should have seen it, Jin's old cell phone,

Great episode that saw the return of Mich...I mean Kevin Johnson who we will be learning a lot about next week. Where he has been, how Ben convinced him to be his spy (my guess is that he let Walt really go home, but who knows), and what he is doing on the freighter. Sun was fantastic, as was Juliet who was really convincing, and pretty much saved Sun's life.

For the people who are so sad that Jin is dead...Hsve ya been watching Lost??? JIN IS ALIVE PEOPLE!!
Lets play the time game:
OK- Sun had her baby in 2005 (this was the flash forward)
Jin was in the year of the dragon, which is currently our present year 2008; however, the last year of the dragon was in 2000 which is when jins flashback took place. He had just started working for Suns dad, and was a newlywed.
When Sun and Hurley went to visit Jin's grave you can see the date on the tombstone says September 22, 2004. This is the day that Oceanic 815 crashed. Jin is back on the island and he is alive, I can assure you.

The Oceanic 6- Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Sun, Aaron? The promos said we would learn the last of the Oceanic 6, so does that officially mean that Aaron is one? Jin's tombstone also means that Jin is not one of the 2 that Jack referred to when he mentioned 8 people with only 6 surviving because his death date is in September, and that is what they are telling the world. This means Jin cannot be one of the Oceanic 6. I do not think Ben is one, thus Aaron is the only remaining candidate.

Britney to Guest Star on How I Met Your Mother

TMZ is reporting that Britney Spears is going to be making a guest appearance on an upcoming episode of How I Met Your Mother. It will be a one episode thing only and may be as small as a cameo. Brit's agent at William Morris secured the deal last week.

God I hope Britney ends up being the mother on the show. How Effing awesome would that be! Then they could have Marshall defend Ted when she goes crazy and Ted can have custody and then raise them with Aunt Robin. Thats why Ted has to tell them about the story of he met their mother cause she was committed when they were babies!

"It's Very Stressful Being an Other"

Welcome back to another Lost recap. We are 6 episodes deep into Season 4, and after 5 incredible episodes we got a regular run of the mill, nothing special, episode of Lost. Now let me be clear, there are no bad episodes of Lost. It's just our expectations are so ginormous, that a good episode always leaves us feeling empty. That is the way I felt about last night's Juliet centric episode. Elizabeth Mitchell is always fantastic, and she looked wonderful last night, but the plot including her flashback could have been explained in one scene rather than stretching it out. The really interesting scenes were anything that involved Ben presently on the island.

Juliet, Goodwin & Harper- Harper was friggin creepy when she found Juliet in the jungle. Where are the others hiding?? Is Ben telepathic?? How was he able to communicate anything to anyone??Stop introducing new characters!!!!
Nice way to bring back Goodwin who was always interesting to me. Fun story plot, and just shows us how wacko Ben really is. I want to believe that he ends up being a good guy, but he is just too creepy for me to do so right now. Having Goodwin unnecessarily infiltrate the tailies was obviously a way to get rid of him. A lot of things were obvious about this episode, and their ill fated romance was clearly one of them. Also Harper told Juliet that she looks like "her" which is why Ben is so infatuated. Who is her? Could it be the portrait of the blonde woman you see when Juliet goes to Ben's house?

The Faraday/Charlotte stuff- Also predictable. I could see Kate getting clocked from a mile away, the 10 second countdown has been done a million times, and you knew they weren't really going to gas the island. It would have been awesome if they actually had somehow.

Little things: They mentioned the kids that they kidnapped from the camps, and Ben mentioned the numbered rabbits. What did that mean? How will the kids factor into anything, and why do they need them? It's nice to see them refer to old questions, makes me think that Damon and Carlton actually remember old episodes.

My favorite part was both Jack and Juliet hearing the whisperings in the jungle. I think this is the first time we have seen 2 characters simultaneously hear the whispering. We (and they) are not crazy. Thank god. The Juliet/Jack kiss was fine for what it was, but unnecessary. You know he loves Kate, you see him pine for her when he gets off the island, so stop screwin with my head ok?

The Red Sox Video- I tend to believe Ben that Widmore is the big bad (Alan Dale just always looks menacing as Mr. Widmore) I also think Ben ends up a good guy, that's just my gut feeling. A wealthy power hungry man who is searching for an island that would bring him so much wealth and power, and trying to stop a man (Ben) from continuing his research. This is a very thinned version of what the truth might actually be, but it's still something to think about. Loved Ben's "See you at Dinner!" line to Sawyer, and Hurley. Hilarious.

A New Lost Theory

One might say that the Desmond time travel episode last week could be the most significant episode of Lost yet. We learned so much, and the time travel aspect completely changes the facet of this show. Was I happy that we are actually in a sci-fi-ish show? Not really, I always wanted a reasonable explanation for the going on's on the island.

I decided to rewatch "The Constant" last night, and after re-watching it I was able to pick up on a few more things. When Desmond started freaking out on the helicopter, and then again on the freighter, I think it was Faraday that asked if Desmond had been near any sorry of electrical or magnetic energy that had hit the island. He referred to it as an EMP (Electro Magnetic Pulse). We all know that when the Hatch exploded that was an EMP that went off, and of course Desmond was right there when it happened.

Sidebar for a minute- These are the people we know get off the Island so far. Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid. We also know that Michael and Walt were able to get off somehow (We will see that story in episode 8)

Let's go way back now. Back to Season 2. The cliffhanger had Jack, Sawyer, Kate, and Hurley gagged and tied up on the dock where Ben let Michael and Walt leave. Simultaneously, Jin, Sayid, and Sun were on a raft ehading to rescue Jack, Kate, Sawyer, and Hurley. All these people were not on the island when the Hatch exploded causing the EMP. If Faraday is correct, and the EMP did cause Desmond's strange behavior, then it is a fair hypothesis to suggest that If you were nearby when the Hatch exploded, getting off the island could be deadly...unless like Desmond you have a Constant (which would be Penelope)

This is why only a certain amount of people got off the island, because they could and other's could not without risking having a Desmond like freak out.

So, we have 9 Losties immune from getting off the island. Jack said there was 8 people that got off the island, and 2 died, making the Oceanic 6. It has also been widely speculated that a main character would be biting the dust before episode 8. This could be one of the 9 immune characters. Aaron wise, I am not sure how to explain how he gets off the island, but maybe his youth will have something to do with it. If Claire cant get off the island, she would want Aaron to be safe, and giving him to Kate assures her of that.
