Dennis P. Zine for President

Los Angeles Councilman Dennis P. Zine has proposed an ordinance to protect celebrities' personal space.

"This is about common decency," Zine said following an LA City Council meeting. "We don't want to put the media out of business, but there has to be some reason when they do their job."

According to his plan, celebrities will be entitled to "Personal Safety Zones" which the paparazzi cannot invade. In theory, this would require the space between a celeb and a paparazzo to be wide enough to drive a car through.

The ordinance is set to protect not only celebs, but the photogs and innocent bystanders as well.

"It has gotten outrageous," Zine said of the intense media coverage of celebrities. "If we don't do anything, we could see someone seriously injured or killed."

*** The fact that it has taken this long for anyone to issue this kind of statement, or propose somt sort of solution is beyond ridiculous. This is taking the freedoms we have been given an American's and completely abusing it. I will do whatever I can to support this plan.
