Another episode of Lost, and another slew of new characters, backstories, and questions. It wouldn't be a Lost episode without it!
Though this episode was heavily hyped as being far superior to last week's brilliant opener, I was a little let down by it only because it was hyped so much.
Lets begin with our 4 newbies shall we?
Daniel- He was watching the news with the footage of the crash, and he wept. Why did he weep? He almost seems Autistic. I know scientists are supposed to be weird, but he took weird to another level with his hand gestures and ticks. I couldn't tell if he was manipulating our crew, or if he was genuinely weird.
Miles- The Ghostbuster of the crew. I really don't like when they bring in mystical elements. I don't want this show to turn out to be a sci-fi series. However, Miles was a fun character to watch. He also is connected to Oceanic 815 somehow. Obviously all 4 of them are.
Charlotte- An archeologist who had to pick up any newspaper that had anything about the crash on it. She truly seemed to have no knowledge of anything that was going on, but she was prepared for the worst seeing as she was wearing a bullet-proof vest.
Lapidus- The pilot who was supposed to be piloting Oceanic 815 when it went down. Not much else was revealed about him other than he is a drunk. I am sure he will
Obviously these 4 have a very strong connection to Oceanic Flight 815 that we just do not know about, and we probably won't know until they produce more episodes. Maybe they were all supposed to be on the plane originally?
We know they are here for Ben. Ben knows they are here for him. WHAT DO THEY WANT WITH BEN! Maybe the company that Ben has been working for wanted to extract him from the Island. Right now Abbaddon is the person pulling the strings. I am sure he works for someone, but just to get things straight: Abbaddon hired Naomi who went with the 4 to oversee the mission, and presumably the 4 do not know the actual mission and are there because of their skills.
The episode ends with Ben exclaiming he knows all this because he has a man on their boat. Hmmm I wonder who his man if?? Does Ben seem like the type to just let someone go without expecting anything in return? He wouldn't just let someone get off the island for nothing. I am gonna go ahead and take a wild guess that Ben's man on the boat is Michael, and since episode 8 is titled "Meet Kevin Johnson," I bet Kevin Johnson is Michael working for Ben on their boat.
Awesome writing to explain that the Locke survived the bullet wound because he had no Kidney. The same Kidney his father conned him into giving up. Bad writing though that 5 min after the previous episode Charlie is completely forgotten and we see Claire playing with the Aaron and laughing as if she has no care in the world.
Questions:
Is Oceanic behind all this? Is Oceanic just a dummy company that used flying as cover? Clearly the plane that was discovered in the ocean isn't our Oceanic. The pilot isn't the same pilot who was killed by the smoke monster all the way back in episode 1.
What the hell is up with the Polar Bears, and now the Cow with a bell on?? I can't even begin to tackle that one, but maybe they were used as the
Why did Daniel have a gas mask? Gas masks have been very prevalent on this island. Inman used one when he dragged Desmond onto the beach, and Ben's crew used them when they killed the rest of their crew.
How did Lapidus land the helicopter so perfectly, and if he is such a pro, why did he wake up so far away from the Helicopter??
Best moment of the Night: Hurley talking about the cabin, stopping Locke in his tracks.

Until next week! Namaste!
